چکیده

Abstract The influence of microstructural defects on the corrosion resistance AISI 316L additively manufactured with Metal Binder Jetting in high Cl - environments were studied herein. A comprehensive metallographic examination was conducted to identify followed by a study electrochemical techniques aim finding correlations between impurities microstructure and preferential nucleation sites. Despite, number inclusions samples, none tests showed clear indication that they resulted decreased as compared areas few inclusions. However, significant higher pitting potential observed as-printed samples grinded 600 grit SiC paper which will be discussed further.

Additively manufactured hierarchical stainless steels with high strength and ductility.

Many traditional approaches for strengthening steels typically come at the expense of useful ductility, a dilemma known as strength-ductility trade-off. New metallurgical processing might offer the possibility of overcoming this. Here we report that austenitic 316L stainless steels additively manufactured via a laser powder-bed-fusion technique exhibit a combination of yield strength and tensil...

Corrosion Behavior of Stainless Steel Clad Rebar

Stainless steel clad rebar (SCR) was investigated because it may become a cost-effective means of controlling corrosion in concrete under very aggressive environments. Sound SCR (316L cladding) resisted corrosion in saturated Ca(OH)2 solution (SCS) with up to 5 wt% chloride. Cladding breaks on SCR induced significant corrosion of exposed underlying CS in SCS with only 1 wt% chloride. A computer...

Corrosion at Sulphide Inclusions in Stainless Steel

Auger analysis was performed using a high resolution scanning auger electron microscope and auger electron spectroscopy. Elemental auger contour maps for corroded sulphide inclusions in stainless steel were presented. It was found that the copper enriched-manganese sulphide inclusions were uniformly corroded, which might be due to CU2S deposition on the surface of corroding inclusions. In contr...
